Ok so we're in the process of a bathroom remodel and overdue yard cleanup. Today me and my brother in law were working on removing the sink and cabinet, wall tile and bathtub.
WARNING: If you live in Utah and your house was built in the 60's your tub is probably 3/8" steel!!!
This damn thing weighed over 180LBS easily. since the room was built so small we had to actually take a grinder with a metal cut wheel on it (took 6 of them [harbor freight]) to cut the end of the tub off so we could remove it.
So in summary I'm going to proceed to get wasted on vodka now that the work is done but I will damn sure make sure the new tub is something lighter cause that 3/8" steel is a PITA!!

you can buy tiles with little tabs on the side that help a LOT, and stops you from having to use those stupid little spacers to leave room for the grouting.
cheers... easy on that vodka...
edit - did you count your fingers and thumbs before the job? ......
we were doing demolish ourselves to save on the removal. The install is being done by a contractor.
I haven't started on that vodka yet but yes I do have all my digits on my hands and feet still

tubs are put in prior to finished walls, they usually don't come out easily. Wait till you start chipping up tile.....
Idiot builder carpeted the bathroom at some point. The tile around the tub and counter is already off. The houses in utah suck they did not use any greenboard and so now the drywall and some re-framing has to be done in there since the water ruined the drywall. glad I'm not doing it.
Wob: no I don't have any pics of the tub and it's gonna go in the dumpster that will be here monday
