Insomnia anyone?

It's nearly 4am again and I'm wide awake despite TWO prescriptions that are suppose to put me out within the hour. Yeah right, I took them at 10pm. This really sucks. I tried poking around on the at like 3am, she shut that down quick. So I'm watching VH1 with my two labs asleep at my feet. Meanwhile I type away on MUD. Anyone else had problems like this?

5 am here. Have you tried lunesta? I cannot stay awake with 4mg in me if I actually get in the bed and close my eyes after taking it. If I sit on the computer or watch TV I can usually fight it, but I dont want to. If I get in bed, there's nothing I can do, I'm going to fall asleep.

I've been on 12.5mg of Ambien for so long that it doesn't do anything anymore. I'll see if I can get a script of your brand to try. So why are you up this early?

I swear my 'natural' sleep cycle is to fall asleep in the early morning (5ish) and wake up at about 1. I woke up at 7:30 am (about 22 hrs ago) and I am just now getting tired. I don't fight it unless I have a reason to (school, exams, work, etc)

No insomnia here. But I did wake up at 5:00am (without an alarm) to put the brisket on the smoker.

I used to battle insomnia pretty regularly. Now, I pop 3 Simply Sleeps and drink a beer. Within an hour, I am out like a light. Might not be the healthiest thing in the world, but neither is not sleeping.

Hope it helps.

I am constantly making lists in my head on stuff I have to get done the next day, if I wake up at all during the night, I'm done.

A lot of times it's stress related. Try to exercise but not with in a few hours before you go to bed. Cut caffeine out mid day. No soda or coffee in the afternoon.

Landpimp,

I have insomnia also. Part of the problem comes from my wife. she is a night owl and keeps the tv on in the main bedroom. I would tell her to turn it off then argue with me. Some times she does not. I remember blowing my top off once to shut it off. She respects my request to turn it off now.

But mostly I toss and turn then wake up at 3-4 am watch a little tv then head to bed. Most sleeping pills dont affect me but mabey Ambian may work?

I will be in Puyallup middle of this month and perhaps I can see your cruiser collection?

It is known that vigorous exercise helps to release the sleep hormon that helps me to fall asleep.

Ambien is seriously addicting.

my .02

Try a Mellatonan. It is an over the counter sleep aid. My wife uses it because she is a day sleeper. She also on occassion takes a Benadryl and it also works as an over the counter sleep aid.

Good luck.

Prescription drugs, who knows what that is doing to your bodies.

Exercise and eat a balanced diet. If you are not tired enough, exercise more.

My mind never turns off. Many nights I roam the house and then lay in bed staring at the ceiling in the dark. I take Lunesta about 4x a week.

i've always had issues sleeping also. Same as many stated above. I went to the doc to tell them and he asked what i did to help. I said i have tried it all from drinking milk, reading books, exercise, meditation. Now i just puff a bowl of pot and it helps me sleep. He said to try one benadryl for a week to help get your sleep pattern back. So i would, and it really does help. Once i get back on track i'm good for a little while. When my sleep schedule gets wacked out, it's back to benadryl and the bong.

If it gets really bad, I take a muscle relaxer. Soma and Flexiril are my friends. It usually doesn't get bad enought for me to resort to it though. It seems like I always fall asleep for five minutes then I'm wide awake. I lay there for a while and if I can't get back to sleep, I get up, have a beer or two more and play on 'Mud' until I'm ready. I attribute it to my work schedule, no sense in seeking help for it while working nights.

First rule is you don't talk about it. Seriously I have been there. It stems from stress and anxiety most of the time. Lots of exercise (early in the day), good diet and relaxation will help. If you are not religious then just find a way to "escape the world" and relax your mind. You are not sleeping for a reason. Find out what that reason is and stop looking for a cure. The cure is to Solve the problems that are occupying your brain. I personally use a combination of alcohol, sleeping pills, Chamomile tea, antihistamine and sexual relief! Works 75% of the time!

I've never slept a night in my life. When I was is school I remember about once maybe twice a week I was so drained from not sleeping I'd come home and crash. The next day was like I was a dead battery. The less sleep I get the better I am. Cant get up and eat either. If I drink 1-2 cups of coffee I'm full. If I make myself eat I'm in sloth mode with what seems like my body stressing to digest the food. I donno.

I'm fawked though, I swear some nights I'd beat myself unconscious if I could.

Oh well.

I just started trying Melatonin, and so far the sleep is better its just not helping me fall asleep.

Never. Not once, in my life, have I gone to sleep. Tossing and turning for hours and hours watching the clock tick tock is a biatch. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.
