I sure hope they fix Madden

I am an avid Madden Football player. I have played almost everyone of the version that have came out since the Madden 64.

I have enjoyed everyone of them and became pretty good at them. I have played the games on the N64, Sega Genesis, PS, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360, once on the gamecube, and the PC. Well I sold my xbox and purchase a 360 for my birthday/christmas(they fall close together). I also bought the new Madden which was supposed to be great. I had already played this year's Madden on my reg. xbox, so I thought I knew what to expect.

Well this years Madden for 360 sucks. It was like they were rushed to finish it and just threw the code into the game without hardcore testing.

First off they put some "new" stuff into the game which was supposed to make it better, like Hall Of Fame player that you unlock as you accomplish certain tasks, like breaking the sacks in a game record. That is all fun and games. Sure I like to play with Barry Sanders and Gale Sayers lined up behind A HOF OL and have HOF WRs flanked to my outside, ONCE IN A WHILE. But I have still not found a way to turn off HOF players in the game if you wish to play with current lineups in franchise mode. I don't want to play as the Jaguars and have to play the Titans when they have Gale Sayers/Steve Van Buren/(insert any other HOF RB here), and they always sing one of them.....its just not realistic.

Another thing. I have had to restart my profile 1 dozen+ times since I bought the game due to the game damaging the profile while saving. So I have to start over.

The Madden developers want the game to be the most realistic football game out there. Keep this in mind.

In past Madden games during the offseason of franchise mode you had a list of activities along the lines of; Retirements, Restricted FA signings, Resignings, FA signing period, Scouting combine, Draft, Rookie signing, possibly another FA signing period, reorder the depth chart, start new season.

Well this year it leaves out the restricted free agent signing period. In real football and at least last years possibly more than that, you could recoup draft picks for restricted free agents. NOT THIS YEAR.

They also left out Scouting Combine. They just give you some measureables they would take at the real combine and then you get some comments from Mel Kipers image. I enjoyed the scouting combine process.

Another thing.....the draft is completely unrealistic. Every year there will be no less than 6 Defensive Ends taken in the top 10 of the first round. Typically there is only 1 QB in the draft worth a draft pick and he isn't even that good. DTs in the draft are impossible to find. The best one 90% of the time is a 5th round pick at the earliest and he sucks badly. There are no WRS in the top 15 either. THIS ISN"T REALISTIC.

I thought maybe when I logged into Xbox live there would be an update fixing some of these glaring errors, was there? NO.

Just now I was playing through a season. Had a good draft, because I didn't need a QB, WR, DT and was able to draft what I wanted. Guess what 4 games into the next season the game freezes up and I have to loose all of my prior seasons work, the offseason, and my draft class.

I realliy do hope there is improvement, next year.

Madden is a great game. I'm in 2013 on the pc mode... I tend to lose interest in it after a few months though. I never had any problems with the pc version.

Madden 360 (& PS3 version, the "next gen" 07's) are considered by most gamers to be junk.

You should check out the www.sportsgamer.com forums for more on that. Some serious diehards there.

I play on PS2 and am very happy with it. Looking for ward to 08 in August which will probably be the last Madden for curent gen platforms (Xbox & PS2)
