Guys, I thought I'd give you an update since the news doesn't tell you everything. As of yesterday, the wind died and smoke settled in town and ash was falling like snow (I guess that's the only way we'll see snow down here anyway). The wind has already picked up and is pushing the fire west away from town so that is a good thing.
I went to go look at the fire break yesterday that is on the outskirts of town and it was crazy. It is a 12 mile line about 40 yards wide that has been plowed up. I guess its our version of the Maginot Line...I just hope ours will hold up better
First pic is a friend of mine's lake house where they were pulling water from not far from the fire. The second is a view from the city at night and the rest are pretty self explanatory.
