Depends on which one, two crashes in about a weeks time.

I knew some of the guys in the '47 squadron. It was the shithook det from Alaska that just replaced us. Good bunch of people.

The 60 that went down was from another neck of the woods.

this is how we hauled these 10000 pound plus concrete cylindars to our building area, about a 1 or 2 mile drive, of course no ties downs or anything , did it iraqe style, hahahahaah
pic 2
and this is how the crane rigger gets around, just rides the load or the chains to and from, crazy crazy

and the craziest part is the crane operators son is 10 and he drives the crane like a champ, he dont lift the loads or anything, but the old man will tell to move the crane here and that boy jumps up and moves it, some time a mile or more , it is a manual to beat, lololooolo

cheers all

PacToy glad to hear it does not suck there all the time. I agree that food does look good not sure about that milk though. Keep up the great work, and know that you have a ton of support back home. Thank you for your service. Where is home and what kinda Cruiser do you drive/work on?

Dude, I just rolled through Al Udeid yesterday. Now I'm in As Saylisai or whatever you call it. We only have a couple of hours when we stop through there, bummer.

Laters.

HawkDriver,
I hate to hear that, would have been nice to have been able to hook up. I am a short-timer now, but if you happen to come back through in the near future send me a PM.

I did the Al Udeid boogy in '04. It seems like just yesterday. I actually stayed in tent city for a while. Then I got moved to coalition city to live the good life.

Truly armored curiser

HI all I don't post often but I've been reading and gleaning info for years. Here is one of the armored Cruisers that runs around here thought ya'll might enjoy. Doesn't look like much but knocking on the window sounds about like rapping on a vault door.

1 Year Anniversary!

Hey folks, not too much to update you all with here but today marks the one year anniversary of the day I got on the plane to come over to this place. Can you believe it? Had no idea that I wouldn't be home by now back then. Makes a year seem easy looking back I guess. If all goes well we should be home by mid January.

That was a pretty memorable day for the family and I, but one we've dealt with once before. First thing you show up at the gym around 0400 and drop your 2 duffel bags. Then all of the families get to sit inside with you for a few hours while you wait for the call forward. Then finally after a long period of mixed feelings with the family comes the call to "form up". It's not the usual quick affair where everyone snaps into position. It takes about 10 minutes or so with all the hugs and all the tears. Then after that last accountability formation you are free to get in one last hug on your way to load the bus. That's when all the feelings from the kids and everyone all come out. Then comes that last touch, then that last word, then finally that last look...

It's just crazy how fast our lives fly by, I mean it doesn't seem like a year already. I miss late nights on Mud chat with all of you guys and talking tech in the 40 section with everyone, but I'll be home and back at it again soon.

Sorry to get all sentimental on you and shit, just a significant day for me I guess. Thanks for all the support you guys show.

Jeremy
