| Hungry-Man TV dinners I'm experiencing a bachelor "moment" right now. Wifey is outta town and, like clockwork, I get a 12er of Bud and a Hungry-Man Boneless Fried Chicken dinner.
Have any other Hungry-Man fans noticed how the cooking directions of these meals always change?
I've been a Hungry-Man fan for years. Damn good stuff!
But I've noticed that everytime I get a Hungry-Man, the baking-directions are always different. Years ago, it was 45 minutes @ 350. Then 35 minutes @ 350. Now, it's 40 minutes @ 350. etc..........
Then you've got the "Remove plastic over..." option. Used to be you just removed the plastic from the chicken and the brownie. Nice work of a fork could accomplish this easily. THEN it was "removing the plastic" from the chicken, potatoes, AND the brownie. THEN it's a whole new combination.
And even when you finally "remove plastic cover" from all necessary components, it still says, "Poke holes in plastic over corn." For some reason, the corn never gets a "thorough" cooking 'cause it's always been "covered. And usually when you get done "removing" all the other plastoc, the corn "compatment" isn't sittin' very tightly at all anyway.
Why do they change everything else up and leave the corn out?
Just thoughts to ponder since Chat has gotten so "boring."

| They turned those into too much cooking and prep work.
Once my wife discovered HotPockets I haven't been left home alone with a TV dinner. |

| Same thing with those Freschetta pizzas... one week they're 375 for 30 minutes, the next 450 for 18 minutes.... it's never the same and I don't get it.

| these companies have armies of cooks who test, retest, research, reformulate, change, update, and just generally fuck with recipes and formulas for these dinners.
if things didn't change...they'd be out of work.
why do you hate corporate test cooks?

"cooks"
The guys who do that stuff are more like chemists than cooks. I used to work with a guy who, before he became an IT geek, was a "food scientist." He disappointed me by squashing the urban myth that McDonald's burgers were 50% cow eyeballs. He actually told me the formula (but I have since forgotten it.)

why do you always feel the need to pull back the curtain just a little more? THEY don't need to know all the details...

| What are you some kind of pussy? Real men eat Fried Chicken the way God, Colonel Harlan Sanders, and five million southern African Americans meant it to be eaten- wit da meat on da bone.
No boneless chicken tenders, nuggets, kabobs will ever enter my mouth.
Bud? Come on, man, live a little. At least spring for a Heine.
Just kidding. You can have all the boneless chicken you want with no criticisms. It's a personal thang.

| I personally think anything south of Kentucky and east of Texas is "south".
