| Food stuff...changing up sweet / savory, found anything good? What foods have you made (or ordered somewhere) that really switched up sweet and savory ingredients? I can't say I've made a ton, but I like to switch up something that's normally sweet, like syrup covered french toast) with something savory (like lightly salted fresh slices of avacado)...tried that a few days ago, was actually very good...the avacado still has a nice texture, and goes great with the sweetness.
Fried egg with some brown sugar on it, not bad at all, different, but I'm fine with different...
So you guys have anything good you've stumbled onto?

| I modified a "jerk" recipe a while back by adding lots of honey, molasses, maple syrup and Lyle's Golden Syrup.
IMHO, it came out real nice.

Crushed black peppercorns on vanilla ice cream.
Yum!

| A lot of the mexican restaurants add Mango (or some other fruit) to their salsa. i think Chevy's does it also. It's pretty good mix. The habanero/Mango combo.
And of course the classic pineapple on you pizza with ham (Canadian bacon)

| There's this Mexican concoction that we've gotten in the past that's really good. It's a mix of lime salt, chili powder and some other hot spices that you put on fruit. It's especially good on melon.
There are several different brands and mixes, so it's hard to pin down anything specific other than chili/lime salt.

I was just thinking of something else that kicks ass like this. My Aunt up in Richmond makes bread and butter pickles/jalapeños. It's an equal mix of cucumber and jalapeños and she throws in one scotch bonnet so they'll totally kick your ass.
You can get Vlasic spicy bread and butters now, but they're not nearly as good (go figure).

I hear things like brownies made with cayenne pepper are really good...the chocolate/heat combination is good..haven't tried that though...would be fun as a prank though..
