Saw a show on that a while ago and the guy who designed it said " If some one took a new battery and put it in, I'm sure it would still go". Assuming that it really is up there. ( start the X-file's soundtrack here )

The most difficult part to ponder is that this is well over 30 years old and we have yet to best it........

what's more amazing is there are three of them up there. if you took enough batteries you could do a trail run.

steering yes, suspension not sure, the "tires" are an open wire mesh (no tube no pressure inside) with sheet metal treads riveted on, that provides some suspension
