| Anybody else eat raw hot dogs when they were little (or now...)? My son asked for a raw hot dog out of the deli counter of the grocery store today and it took me back a few decades.
I used to sneak a few Farmer John's out of the fridge and have a feast in the backyard. I never thought about the fact that they were raw, but never got sick or poisoned either (to my knowledge...).
A couple of hot dogs and a can of sweetened condensed milk and I could pretty much skip dinner.
Anyone else partake?

THey are not bad out of the package, my brother ate dog biscuits and loved them. |

| I used to make cold hotdog sandwiches by slicing them, laying them on white bread, and smoothering'em in ketchup. I can't stand them that way now. They have to be boiled, broiled or grilled, and served on a proper hotdog bun with mustard, and relish or saurkraut, and onions.
Speaking of onions, if you want to make a really good and very simple onion relish, do this... Next time you finish off a jar of pickles, whether sweet or dill, don't pour out the liquid. Save it, and dump in chopped onions. Leave them for two or three weeks, and they'll "pickle". Makes a good, easy onion relish for hot dogs and burgers. And it tones down the onion "bite" for those who like onions a bit less harsh, but don't want them cooked.

| My real favorite is fried bologna sandwiches. Fried bologna on white bread with lots of mayo. Of course you've got to slice some half spokes in the bologna pieces so they don't balloon up and not get cooked. |

| Hot dogs are revolting, and I cannot stand them anymore.
I used to love them cooked in a skillet with some butter and salt. Now I can hardly look at them, I dunno what changed, but they gross me the frick out.
