| is this one of those car buying scams?
i'm selling a car thats on craigs list and get this. sounds like a scam doesnt it?

Thanks for the prompt response to my enquiry. I want to buy it, I
would love tocome and check it but i am on an official duty. Pls do withdraw the advert from Web.I should believe it is in perfect condition as stated on the web.
I will be making the payment via a Certified Check which my secretary
will send across to you. I'll be picking the item from you, the Freight and
handling fee will be added tothe money for the Item. MyMover will be
coming to Pick it from you once theCertified Check hasbeen cashed. Then you'll get the payment across to shipping vendor.
Pls I will need both your name and physical addressalong with you phone number to issue out the payment.

| Had almost the identical email for a full size Bronco I was selling. The scam is they send a check with shipping included. They tell you to just write a check to the shipper. You deposit it, and their shipper shows up. You hand over title and vehicle. 4-7 days later, the bank notifies you the check was a fraud and you have to pay the bank back the money. You just lost your vehicle and paid for their shipping.
I responded saying I would deposit their check and wait the 7-10 days to verify transfer of funds before I released the vehicle and title. Never heard back from them. | |

Never heard back from them. | Actually, usually they have you wire the money to the "shipper", or the excess back to the buyer, and the "shipper" never shows, you keep your car, you just lose thousands of dollars  It takes much longer than 7-10 days many times, and even after the check "clears" you are liable when it comes back as fraudulent.
