In the spirit of trying to stay in touch with distant relatives, I purchased a web cam, the Logitech QuickCam Fusion. I convinced my brother-in-law to do the same.

I have the Logitech software installed and running fine. The new web cam works great.

I created an account thru Windows Live Messenger.

A few days ago, my brother-in-law and I tried to connect. We're able to IM each other nearly instantaneously -- but no luck on the Video Call, which was the whole point of buying these things.

Problem: we're two n00bs trying to connect. We don't know on which end the problem exists, or maybe we both are having problems...

Anyone out there a regular web cam / video call user? Maybe we could try to establish a call tonight.

Junk's mom is a web cam expert, but I think it is like $18.99 a month to watch....

I've had no issues the few times I've used mine, but it's always thru Yahoo Messenger...haven't tried a video call option tho (and not even sure if YM has that offhand...)

Or go here for directions for the Windoze software: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...videoconf.mspx Or are you using a Mac? The Windoze Messenger Mac web page says nothing about video: I wouldn't be surprised if they don't support it, on purpose, typical Microsoft crap that they pull...
