NYC Botanical Garden Train Show

Just came back from the annual Train Show at the NYC Botanical Garden. It features buildings, bridges, and other landmarks in NYC made from plant material---bark, twigs, sticks, acorns, etc.---with trains traveling through the display. They had the Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Station, the Brooklyn Bridge, Yankee Stadium, plus about a hundred or so other buildings. The amount of detail is amazing.

Here are a couple shots--the first, I can't remember what building it is. The second is the Brooklyn Bridge, the third is St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Anyone else got some pics of Christmas/other holiday events?

Here's one of the Botanical Garden building itself! We're inside it, looking at a model of it, etc., etc.

It is in the Bronx. There is no such thing as an NYC Botanical Garden.

People from Jersey often confuse what exactly is considered NYC.

Cool pix though.

Last I checked, the Bronx was in NYC. Of course, the rest of NYC probably wished it wasn't.

Well, what do you know? They no longer call themselves the Bronx Botanical Garden. Looks like they realized it was a good idea to drop the Bronx moniker, too.

Sorry, fuckers.

At least its not the American Airlines(or something of the such) NY Botanical Garden.

Either way...great memories of the place.

Well, from the American Public Garden Association directory ...

The New York Botanical Garden
200 Street & Kazimiroff Blvd
Bronx, NY

It might be in the Bronx, but it's title is NYBG.

My point was that the Bronx is NOT New York City. And it makes me crazy when people assume the outer buroughs are New York City. They're not.

Technically, only Manhattan is New York City.

Then again I don't live in the city anymore... so I'm just another Bridge & Tunneller!
