| Southern Cookin' Goin' to SC next week for Christmas. I can't wait to get some good collards in bacon (a family tradition). Oh yeah, and red velvet cake too. Gotta convince the to let me stop at McCabe's on the way down. Hot damn I'm hungry!

| Southern Food -- the best thing about the south.
Gotta love it -- though, it may kill you early.

| Hope you get a chance to deep fry a bird! Here's my brother and me doing our Thanksgiving turkey. For safety, we always try to keep the pot of boiling oil at least 2' from the high voltage wires.

Although we did a 'wet' run with water and the turkey to try and get just the correct amount of oil with displacement, it didn't quite work. In spite of the beer & champagne accompaniment, after bringing the oil temp up, we did have the smarts to turn off the burner before lowering the turkey. So, spilled oil but no flaming napalm.
