| Nikkor 18-200MM F/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF DX VR Lens Does anyone know where I can find one? I have placed orders with Amazon.com, Adorama, Ritz, Wolf, and a few others. I know this lens is backordered from the factory but all the places above canceled my orders after a few months. Nikkor 18-200MM F/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF DX VR lens: |

| Did you try B&H Photo? If anyone gets them in from the factory it'll be B&H first most likely. www.bhphotovideo.com

| I'm just gonna throw this out there too... 18-200 is a rediculous amount of spread!!! You can pic up 28-200 Nikkor lenses with just as good of glass all day long for a fraction of the price of the 18-200. Probably save enough to buy a separate 18mm lens that'll perform better. I can't see pulling 18-200 mm of spread without distortion somewhere, but I've never used the lens personally.
~$350 for the 28-200 and a $500 Sigma 15mm 2.8 would give a wider range with a faster lens on the short end. Just food for thought. Either way I love shopping for new lenses, have fun!!!

| that is funny, I have the B&H book on my desk. They are back ordered at the moment, no ETA.
I like the idea of the VR function because I am always trying to push an extra stop most of the time anyway. Too lazy to set up proper lighting and the internal flash of the F3 is absolute crap unless I cary around a sheet of paper to diffuse the darn thing and that is at the -3 setting. I have yet to try this lens but it would be nice to carry one all around type.
$1,000 on eBay.....not sure if there is a difference in the lens between US and Imports. Maybe the warranty card is in English? |

| Check to see if the ebay lens is shipping from Hong Kong. Alot of the electronics do and by the time it gets here they may be back in stock locally! I've been waiting for almost 3 weeks on a remote shutter release from HK just b/c I was in no hurry and could save $30. Sure would be nice if it shows up this week.
I gotcha on the lens thing. It is nice to have one lens to do it all with. I'm looking at the big zoomers right now 170-500 and 200-500 so I can get a little closer to my wildlife "subjects" Like I said I love shopping for lenses. Paying for them; not so much...
B&H has a lot of weight to throw around, I'd still say they'll be among the first to get them in. I've bought some gear from www.butterflyphoto.com before too. Might want to check their site as well.

| That range is just nuts. Slice it up and carry 2 dude.
I recently sold my 300/2.8 and so regret it I really will once I go back out to the Jets practice facility. |

| Just wanted to update this thread. This lens is incredible! The auto focus locks up at below zero temps but other than that it works great.
