| How not to park your F350 - a public service from me. Well today I decided that since it had stopped raining I would move my F-350 from the driveway to the side of the road/ditch - I have it for sale and it is quite far from the road when it is parked in the driveway. I wanted more visibilty to passerbys.
Note in the previous paragraph of this post that it has been raining...infact it has been raining here quite a bit lately. Read into that saturated ground. Also remember that the word ditch came in somewhere.
Now... F-350 Diesel crew cab long box = H-E-A-V-Y. Diagonal into ditch. Not the best plan after a lot of rain Ground so soft that when I got out I almost sunk into the grass. I thought I was going to have to pull it out with my 40. Luckily with some boards and 4Lo I squezed it out. The rut from the left front tire was about 20" deep and 4' long. There was standing water in the bottom!
I don't think I need to explain any more - just look at the pics.
2nd pic - I am surprised at the amount of articuation for this truck. |

Hey - it should be a selling point!
Blow up the 2nd pic and paste it in the window so it's visible from the street!

| I winched an F-350 out of a mud hole once. That heavy Powerstroke diesel up front caused the truck to act like a submarine in the soft mud. DIVE DIVE DIVE! I got him out though.....

| Wow, W76 N44 must be the land of the world's softest earth. That ground looked pretty solid to me. Either that or gravity works harder on Fords.
Glad you got it out.

Hodag | Looked pretty solid to me too!! I didn't even feel it sink, I couldn't figure out why I was not going forward any more, then looked out the window to see the running board touching the ground. |
