Your thoughts on 77 Cruiser

I'm considering purchasing a 77 FJ. It appears to be fairly clean with only some small areas of rust in the bed and near the right rear wheel well. I assume that the diamond plate is covering some additional damage. That will be the first thing to come off when I get it home. The engine runs well and the vehicle cruises at 70+ with no problems. There are no obvious leaks from the engine, transmission, or diffs. Other than a missing oil filler cap, I don't see any problems with the engine.

Any thoughts on value for this reasonably clean FJ?

Garage
Someone would likely pay 10K+ on ebay....

Looks ok from 15+ feet away...pretty amazing what paint can cover up....

Do you have any pics of the rear rust and the floors inside, driver/passenger?

I do have some more photos, but I'm waiting for my silver star membership to be activated so that I can post them. All rust is fairly minor, and I've got a friend who's good with a welding torch. Assuming the frame is good and the rust is as advertised, I estimate no more than a long afternoon of cutting and welding to fix the known problems.

See if they have pictures before it was painted. I don't think that's an exact Toyota color, if that matters to you. It's close to Sky Blue (854). Easily $10k+ on ebay. That pretty blue could be hiding all kinds of sins.
