Triple bars for a RTT, level?
Getting ready to install a Columbus variant RTT (medium) with 3 Yakima bars. When I put a level on all 3 bars they do not sit even. The front will be lower than the rear and middle.
Is this going to be a problem or should I assume that the Columbus has some flex?
Thanks All
Pics as soon as I install it.

Park at a different angle.
Seriously, I would not imagine that it would be such a difference that the tent could not handle it.
How far off is it?

Having the rig on different angles does not change the level of the roof rack.
On the driver side it is minimal at about 1/4 inch. on the passenger side it is about 3/4 inch. This is with putting a level across the 3 bars, the passenger side middle bar sits higher than the 2 ends. I have moved them all around but it's still not level.
I will put the RTT on tonight to see if it will clamp down. If not I may have to go with 2 bars.

I mounted a Maggiolina on my 80 series w/ three bars, square tube home made jobbies. I had to space the rear most bar between the bar and rain gutter clamp in order to have the tent sit on all three bars. I think I used old thick shock mount washers I had lying around.

That is a nice idea. I have extra mounting plates that I could use as a space to offset the level.
If it's not hailing tonight I will mount

The tent will flex a little - but you do not want to mount it that way. What type of Yakima towers are you using gutter mount of rail riders?
I have had several different tents on my 1996 FZJ80 - using three Thule gutter mount tower (300's) and stadard thule cross bars. Level and no bending of the tent platform.
If you need to, you can shim between tent and the cross bar right where the clamp is located. You do not need to shim all the way across the bar. The bottom is plenty strong. You can use an extra mounting plate or a piece of rubber or nylon. Anything that is tough and not abrasive.

If you are using the 1A towers from Yakima, you can "shim" the mount by installing a shim material, aluminum or hard plastic between the tower and the top silver mounting hole. It will require a longer bolt (longer by the thickness of the material used for the spacer) then you could customize the level without much issue.
Think the top of the clamp and the bottom as two pieces you could adjust the height by adding a spacer between the two with a longer bolt. 1/4" would be easy!

Your bumper is one of Luke's and you can actually re-drill the mounting holes for the ladder to slide it more in line with the tent entrance.
Just an idea.

Looks great!
Your tent looks just like mine when in the down position.
I like the ladder too, no need to use the included one since that works from the rear.
