I really dig my Maggiolina medium AirLand tent.
It is my first roof top tent, and I did a lot of research and put a lot of thought into which tent I was going to buy.
Ease of setup, hardshell were the two factors that sold me on this unit.
I bought it through a local Rack & Road store, and they ordered it in directly from Mike at AutoHome USA.
Both are great folk's to work with.
Video of me setting it up at my place after I had put the down comforter in.
I use full size flannel sheets, and a twin size Down, Ultra Warmth down comforter from The Company Store.
Both let me sleep very warm in the tent.

Great view,
Your roof top tent really good product. But your 4x4 is excellent.
I have a G series Mercedes GD 300. İt's best off road vehicle. Every where are manualy. I need an awning for my top tent.

none exactly, just whats on the website. they look purdy, and looks like it'll get the job done. the way i see it, realistically, how often does the average person use at RTT? man, some of these things are pricey! and you always get what you pay for...but there's gotta be a middle ground for a best bang for your buck RTT. i like camping labs but autohomes overcamp is lookin very practical for what i plan for. cuz it's narrow, you can fit a cargo box (thule/yakima) next to it. did some measurements and an overcamp next to a 21" thule box would fit over 65" load bars from thule (2 sets for a total of 4 bars, maybe use 3 for the RTT/box), and maybe still have a gap in between for a high lift jack.

I have the CampLab RRT and Awning. It's worked out very well for me and whenever I've had any problems (top cover zipper broke) Fernando took care of me without a question.
I've never had a RRT before and honestly purchased this because I liked the idea of a RRT and being off the ground. I really don't have any complaints. It does what I need it to do.
Good luck

So what would be a good small tent that doesn't take up my whole (future purchase) African Outback rack be? I'd be looking for one that would see extreme climates like the north pole and death valley, places I plan on traveling to. I guess it'd be to sleep me (5'6") and maybe my dad if I could talk him into coming (@ ~6').
I'd like to leave room on the roof for gas/containers

The roof top tent concept was born in Africa from what I have read online.
Here is the first one known to man.
They even got to bring their "trunk" while on an expedition.
I was bored yesterday

hmm, grab the overcamp from autohome, and build a storage/sleep platform in your LC, then you can sleep one on the mainfloor and the other upstairs, lol. or 2 up top. this would be good for loud sleepers.

Thanks.
I built it myself. It was built for the RRT and I needed for to still fit im my garage, so I didn't install the side rails.

Other than the color of his RTT changed from Blue to gray, I have no idea what you are talking about.
