| Speaking of pre-2005 Tacomas, the 2.4 was only available in the 5 lug mini's. 4 cylinder Prerunners and 4x4's have the 2.7 (same basic engine as the 2.4), which is arguably the best truck engine Toyota ever produced... (it is not the same as the 05+ 2.7).
