IMO, the best fitting/looking winch for the FJ40 is by far the 8274 models....they are expensive, but the best built, longest lasting, etc winch out there...and a perfect fit to drop between the frame rails on a FJ40.

8274, i have 3- old, newer, and old retro'd with a 24V motor. They're all fantastic.

Winch Depot was the best deal I found. Free shipping and they throw in a receiver style shackle.
