CNC table plasma, laser, router, flame etc...

Anyone play or build or use one of these items? Been rolling the idea around of sitting down and building one of these machines. Did a small bit of research and found some websites that are kind of like DIY stuff. Looking to go from scratch to finished.

I have computer, some software, space to put the machine. Just need the rest, LOL>

Check out cnczone.com There are a bunch of guys that have built their own there. You can download plans in Solidworks if you want. A friend of a friend built his own. When I checked it out it didn't look that technical. He used square tube as the rails and rack and pinion on both the gantry and the table for motion. Being a plasma you don't need that large of stepper motors because there is no force on the cutting tool. I planned on building one likely this summer. MMM a nice 5x8. MMMMM

good friend of mine has a computer operated plasma table he built himself...works pretty slick....but sorry no info...
