Element K 150lumen 3aaa flashlight

Last year I picked up the 3watt Element two pack 80 lumen, and I have been very pleased with it. I get asked where I got them every time I use them.

These new ones have a Luxeon K2 4wattled producing 150lumens, and the two pack is only $28. Its listed has having a 300ft spot, with an extra wide flood, and come in an aluminum casing. Weight is 6.1 oz.

SO far, its still daylight, so I haven't been able to fully test them. But in my office with the blinds shut, and lights off, its a huge difference.

Great buy.

I take it this was the two pack flashlight from Sam's Club

Sam's Club - Elementâ„¢ Super Bright L.E.D. Flashlight - 2ct

They still have some in stock in the Sam's near my place. Guess where I am stopping by after work tomorrow

the package is slightly different on the one's I got.

The package I have claims:
Battery life: 20hrs,
L.E.D. Life 50,000 hours
and specifically says 150lumens on the bar chart (it also says 50x brighter).

I had not seen these in stock at the Sam's until today. They were here on a display with all the gifts for Father's day they are pushing.

40hrs on 3xAAAs at 4W?

Yet the Leatherman (3xAAA at 3W / 120Lu) is only good for an hour or 2 supposedly.

Which is right?

I think it all depends on when they say when. Some say the batteries are done at 50% brightness, others when no light, so it is all relative. For my 80lumen Element k I bought last year, I have only changed the batteries once. I noticed it wasn't as blinding as before, but was still giving off a good amount of light. I keep one of these in each car, but they don't get used for more than a 10-15 minutes at a time, and not very often.

the one to 2 hours I quoted is for 50% real life IIRC, from consumer tests, not the packaging.

Are these voltage regulated? At that price I wouldn't think so.
