How does one determine the age of their Warn winch
I recently purchased a used Warn 12k and I made sure the motor worked before i purchased it (have yet to test the solenoid box). I was curious to know if there was any way I could determine it's age either by the serial or model number. From my research so far, my model number is 26626 and i think it's an older model. Anybody know? Does $450 sound like a fair price (did not come with a fairlead or cables from the solenoid box to motor but did come with a remote and battery cables)?

Look for the "Born on date".
Kidding. I'd guess a 5 digit S/N is pretty old, but $450 isn't bad if it's still working! Here's the parts list/exploded view from Warn. http://www.warn.com/truck/Replacemen...srrpl17-18.pdf __________________ Chad 1976 FJ40: TBI350/SM465/SOA/SR/37's/ARBs/30-Longs/Metal Tech/SROR/Oeyes 1984 FJ60: TBI350/NV4500/ARBs/OME lift/Oeyes 1985 Toy Hilux: 6" lift/4.3L/R150F/Marlin's DUC/ARBs/30-Longs/5.29s/37's/Oeyes 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD bullydogged, airlift There's plenty of room for all of God's creatures, right next to my mashed potatoes! |
