hmm, very interested in ordering an extension. But I need to figure out what is the breaking strength for my 3/8" steel wire rope (Warn M10000 winch). Does anyone know?

Ali,
I think 3/8 steel cable has breaking around 14,500lbs

I bought my syn line from rockstomper, woody recommended.
Go for it Ali, it's so much better and safer not to mention a lot lighter.

Thanks for the info. Just trying to decide between 5/16 and 3/8. With the info you've given me, I'll go with 5/16" with BS of 13,700# (3/8 has BS of 20,400#). I'm only buying an extension cable for my 3/8" steel cable (BS of 14,500#), not the actual winch line.

edit: Scott sent me 3/8" 50' extension last week. Quick, prompt service. I decided to go with the 3/8" even though it's breaking strength is higher than my steel cable I got due to the additional material to protect against accidental abrasion on the trail. Hopefully I won't ever have to use it!!!

I have not tried Rockstomper's winch rope, but I can vouch for Scott's great customer service and support. He is a nice guy to buy from and will take good care of you.
