Good Waeco price?

I found this online dealer - Marinenutz.com - that sells the Waeco cf-50 for $570. Seems like a decent price. It's the DC only model but I don't need the AC hookup anyway. What do you think of this price? This is the exact model I'm looking for - any sources for a cheaper price? Thanks

Unless they're going to cream you on shipping/handling that's a very good price.

I just bought my Waeco CF-50 from fourwinds RV online for $535 for the DC model and bought the ac adapter and cover for an additional $100 for those 2 accessories and I think shipping was around $70 for all of it. Just got it in and is a great fridge! Then I bough the LED light and roller from two zone for it.

Thanks! I knew someone out there would have a better price...

I have the CF-80 and didn't think the AC would be useful but I have already used it many times.

I have the CF-50 too from Fourwinds. What's the deal with the LED light and roller? Mine has a light inside, but I don't think its LED. What's the roller for?

Also, word of caution for those that buy the AC adapter for this unit...it's 24V. The Waeco's can automatically run in 12V or 24V environment, but the AC adapter output is only 24V. I hooked up an airmattress inflater to it once and burned the inflater in about 15 seconds. Funny thing was it sounded like a a Lear jet for about 15 seconds too.

I like the fact it is 12/24v compatible. I wonder if when operating at 24V, does the fridge perform any better/faster?

The roller is designed to allow rolling of the cooler like a hand truck.

I dunno, but in Overland Journal, the National Luna fridge blew the doors off all competitors on the cool down, and is compatable with 12/24V etc..... I'm looking at the N.L. now.

The NL's look great too but they are about twice the price. They also have a new 50/10 split fridge/freezer. 50 liter fridge/10 liter freezer.

I think most of the fridges in this category work on both 12v or 24v. Ohms law says that with 24v the fridge should draw half the current to perform the same work. That is where the performance is better. The question now is which way draws less current: (1) 12V directly to the fridge or (2) 12V to 115vac inverter to Waeco P/S which outputs 24VDC for the fridge?
If money were no object I would score the NL 50L weekender; however, I found a WAECO CDF-40 w/ Danfoss compressor for $199 on clearance at Camping World. I'll get by with that for now.
