Mounting a RTT on 3rd Gen 4runner

I am looking at getting a RTT and I have the brackets and crossbars to mount it on my 80. I want to be able to share this RTT with daughterofromer. What do I need to do to her roof rack to be able to handle a RTT

here is a good view of her current setup

We always recommend upgrading the roof rack. Check on Thule or Yakima. On the 80 you could also go with ARB. The tent itself weighs in at 120# so it's a bit heavy for the factory rack especially with two people in it. BTW, We're running a special on the tents in the vendors section.

KEN

i recommend a set (2) of Thule or Yakima crossbars, DO NOT USE the factory crossbars. They are not up to the job. A full on basket is extra money and weight that is totally unecessary - detrimental, in fact.

I had mine mounted with 2 Thule crossbars/towers on my 80 and I ended up using a 3rd crossbar...I think the Yakima would be a better option, as the Thule looked as if it bent slightly with my wife and I up there.

Go to the vendor section like he said in the post

When I upgrade the roof rack, do I reuse any of the existing rack or remove it completely? Do I need to drill new holes?

Thanks

Mike...do you have any other pics of the Maggiolina on a 3rd Gen 4Runner? I'm looking at this option (Airland) for my 2001 4Runner.

This is a small AirLand on a 4runner - uncertain of year but probably close.
