they are slow, but your right, anything that can effectively heat water has a place at least as a backup source for cooking.

I think you are correct, it does have its place. It would be a good emergency way to boil water.

it's a good example of homemade camping gear that works well and cost next to nothing.

not really gold boy,,, its just a small container and takes,,, what did he say 10mins to boil?? this is a much better example and boils 2 cups in less than 3 min.

Not a very good example, when there is zero info about it, except for a fuzzy picture.

funny the triangia is mentioned,, the "pop can stove" in my pic is modeled off of it.

do a google search for "pop can stove" you will find all kinds of instructions and styles.

ummm... i have used the triangia on multi day backpacking trips and can highly recommend that stove.... a fairly fast cook [not the fastest], however the more wind blows the faster she would cook, very good in wind. at one time i think they called it the storm stove, not sure.
