5's are gone. I do have one mi-5 demo model I can let go. It was set up a few times.

4's and smaller still in stock.

Mi - 5

These tents are awesome. No pics, sorry. but I was able to set up and take down our tent myself at Surf-N-Turf. No problem. It even withstood the wind. There was abrief time where It started to fold in some, but that was because we didn't have it anchored to sand bags well. The tent rocks. The front and rear exit was also very convenient. We could easily sleep 2 adults and 2 kids with 2 large bags of clothes.

This year we were not close to the main camp as we also brought a truck and trailer to haul quads. Needless to say, we've spent money on the cruiser not the truck so it lacks tires, bumper with tow hooks etc. Being so far away, seemed we missed alot of people. Next year were going on thursday forsure. Found a couple of the MI-5 for anyone interested.

Alf,
Are these tents still available? I'm interested in the m-10. If not do you know of any comparable tent.

Mi-4 and smaller are all that are left.

I know of nothing that is comparable.

Does anyone have one of these tents around the bay area in california? I'd like to see one before I purchase one.

Thanks!

If there are still some MI-10's available, I would be interested in one. Saw the post about MI-4's only left. That true? Is the demo gone? PM me with what you have left.

a winter camping update

took the wife and boy to the mountian this weekend.
we knew it was probably going to snow saturday night

nice weather saturday and into the early night.
about 9pm it started to rain lightly.
the fire was burning out so we decided to hit the hay.

well, i think i just had about an hour or two worth of sleep when my boy woke me up.
turned on the light and the tent had buckled from the weight of the snow.
the top of the tent was now on us all.

knock the snow off from inside the tent and go back to sleep...well,i tried. the snow was heavy and it didn't take long for this to happen again and again and again.
i have no idea how many times we went thru this in the night.

the snow would slide down the ends of the rain fly and pull it down, the ends of the tent were buckled thru the whole night.

i still love this tent and this was our first time using it in the snow.
a learning experience for sure.
next time i will use a tarp over the tent in a "lean-to" type manner or a inverted "v"so the snow slides off the tarp onto one side instead of weighing down the top of the tent.

sorry no pics forgot the camera

BTW packing up in a snowstorm BITES!

FYI, I have read nothing but tons of positive reviews on these tents... http://www.springbar.com/explore/tentmodels/index.html
Just another option, although I'm sure the OZ tents are awesome.

supposedly they routinely use these at Everest basecamp, sounds good enough for the rest of us IMO. I would be surprised if the OZ tents could take more weight than the springbars.

Well, one might think a tent called "OZtent" would be made in Oz. But apparently, it is not. There are some good products coming out of China. I'd just hope after spending this kind of money, the Oztent would be one of them. There are a lot of happy customers on this thread... so perhaps it is. Not trying to debate made in china products, just gathering product information for myself.

Actually, I'm more interested in the RV series Oztents. They look like a great design especially because of the height, awning and have a 30 second set-up time. Their warranty policy, though it probably doesn't apply to US sales, sounds outstanding.

"Full 2 years parts and labour warranty.
Plus if you do have a problem with your Oztent under warranty all freight charges are ..... paid by us!!
Yes you have read it right., if your tent has a warranty problem we will pay the freight costs to pick it up from you and send it back to you.
PLUS, we are so confident that the OZTENT is the tent for you, we are prepared to let you try it out for 14 days with the option of a............
Full refund, no questions asked.
And when we say full refund we mean FULL REFUND, because we will also refund any freight costs we charge you."

However, there is no mention of the MI tents on their website.

jim,

Sorry to hear about your tuff nite in the snow. Did you have the rain fly fully staked out? If not this could have helped as it would have prevented the bows from deflecting. However if it was wet heavy snow the Mi may have met its match.

To all those inquiring about remaining sizes all I have is 1-2 man Mi's and Kt's. I also have an RV2 and RV3.

Cheers,

Kevin
