run Nov 7th and maybe 8th
i am back from a 10,700 km round trip and i am itching to do a run...
i am thinking of going to Ardegg and doing that run we did last year at this time, you all remember it right?
"who wants to turn back?"
"not me"
"where are we?"
"the road is over there but how do we get from here to there?"
"the birf is broken, i will have to drive out in 2WD."
"holy crap, we are on the road."
"tractor tires can do 100 k/h on pavement."
anyone want to join me?
or does anyone have another spot they want to tackle in the mud (and maybe snow)?
email me direct:
wayne@crushersrule.com if interested.

Hope you had a good trip Wayne. I am dying to get out and do some wheeling, but not only do I have to work on the 7 its my anniversary too. So I'm a no go for sure that day. Hope to make it out before too much longer.

About the run next week 7 Nov 09
Wayne
I am the same as Dave, I have to work as well, but all day.
I got some new tires for the BJ 42, some old school 7.00 x 15 bias ply mud tires. Just got my old steel rims back from the blaster. Need to paint and mount.
Are you guys going out both days?
Dave

we can do the 7th or the 8th or both days and anywhere you want to go.
how about this canyon run on the 7th with a rescue run on the 8th?
here is the thing guys, i am retiring the PZJ70 and will be building a replacement wheeling rig. i always liked my LJ78 other than that POS engine. i picked up a decent LJ78 on my way back to Ontario (there is this evil guy named Bruce that lives in Calgary, he seems to know where all the good buys are located and dangled this carrot in front of me... and i bit)
i decided then and there to build my custom 70 series 4 door LC pickup out of it. the PZTI/R141 will be installed. couple that with the factory 4.90 gears and coil suspension and i should have a truck that can be capable, comfortable, practical and economical.
http://forum.ih8mud.com/70-series-te...ouble-cab.html
i will start with just the heart transplant and then go to the rear of the truck and chop, extend and bed. the only real downside to my plans is the looong wheel base with a nasty turning radius. (maybe 4 wheel steer will help there???)
anyway, this coming weekend MIGHT be the last we see of the white tractor in action.

b/c done, 10,700 km in a truck i only owned for 2 weeks before hooking 9000 lbs behind it and headed off to San Fran. that old girl hauled me out and back with no break downs, (damn did i ever get lucky).
when you are ready for the chop bring it up and lets have a cutting party on Mike's truck....

ok, i am going to burnt river again this weekend to visit my brother. i want to go offroading but not too keen on going by myself... Wayne showed some interest at the cruiser meeting this weekend.
Wayne- i emailed you the address.
i also messaged Matt and Mike to see if they want to come.
if anyone else wants to come along, please email, phone or pm for directions.

yep, it is too bad. the wheeling rig is under the knife and the drivetrain is being moved to a 4 door LJ. i SHOULD have it running by the end of the week but it won't be completely back together till sometime next week and i need to slop some comor on the sheet metal.
the "new" wheeling rig will be tested on the 27th run.
enjoy, i am jealous.
cheers

for the record, matt tried going up the hill at the lookout, and mike was way to serious about going down the same hill until i told him that if he tried, he would make it no matter what...because there was no backing up it once started, and it would only be an issue of how much carnage...

yeah, doable wayne on short wheelbase for sure, a heeper did it with 31's on a dry day according to Simon, my attempt was pure ass, had max psi on the tires and was just slidin on the wet rocks and dirt, squeelin like i usually squeel with the PS, lol... plus i took a differnt line that what simon suggested which for some reason at the time looked harder...meh, i'll try again when i'm back.
we can always do up some of your secret hills near the cruiser spa, that's IF people can swing it... checkin my december sched....keepin fingers crossed..

i hate to say this but i seen a jeep w/33s do the hill this summer.
so in theory a fj40 w/35s could.
i dont even want to try cuz of my lwb.
the line i pointed out might looked harder, but it was defently doable. anytime you want to go conquer ill come be witness. next time we'll air down your tires and hope for a dry day.

I just wanted to make it as far as Rome did so I could give him a hard time sadly I didn't even make it that far I think I just need to moose it a little more! or maybe some Crushers guidance "Stay Right" "what hard left?" There was for sure going to be some nasty carange if mike tried that hill. I had visions of having to pull mike down the hill!
Rome came really close to making it last time. Can we run those trails the weekend of dec 12-13th? or are we too close to snowmobile season? can't remember if that trail was an OFSC trail.
Wayne I am thinkin you could make this hill!
I Could also wheel Nov 23-25 if anyone is interested.
