LOL, well the way I look at it is - if we aren't pulling someone or getting pulled then we aren't having fun.

i'll have my light weight saw too.
gonna see if i have time to build a sleep platform for the 40 that folds away, then i'll just use a tarp over the rig. should be fun.

everyone, meet Ric/karlysdad, he's good buddies with the PO of my 40, and owns a kickin FJ40! we're gonna try and hook up with him too for a wheelin run in his neck of the woods (quinte west area), maybe september, so keep an eye out. Ric knows all the trails inside out. too bad he can't join us this weekend. see you on the next run Ric!

The run sounds like a LOT of fun ... & driving for you fellows.
While I am here ... can anyone tell me where one could find a 24V Winch ... preferably one that can be mounted to the BACK of an ARB bumper ( feeding from underneath so to speak )? Its for an HJ60 belonging to Jerome's 40's previous owner ( getting complicated?)

yeah, should be good, just feelin lucky that i have the weekend free and an old rig that can hopefully get me there and back in one piece with a smile on my face.... and gain some more wheelin experience!
btw, is 40 litres of extra gas enough? got a 20L can, and 2 10 L ones, good thing i have brackets (for rear seat) to anchor them down to.
checked the winch, its workin, replaced one hoop bar (rotted out), checked my fluids/tire pressure . . . gathered tools/recovery gear/camping stuff . . . and now i just gotta pack my clothes/food and see how i'm gonna strap them all down, should be fun!

Just finished filling up Mikes truck with 130L of veggie in his "new" (my old) tank. Also loaded him up with 7 cubies (another 110L) so if you guys are up to deep fry something, he should still have enough to get there and back.
Wayne/Romey - call me when you are coming through Napanee... should get me on the 401 around the time you come by my exit. (I come on at Odessa) No plans for a restaurant yet? If we go to the shop and see the boats, we can meet Mike there (I can lead you from the 401) We can park there and walk 3 blocks to some nice restaurants. (otherwise parking down town is a hassle) Otherwise we can go to Boston Pizza or Swiss Chalet at the 401 @ division st. Got to get an oil change in tomorrow morning on the 40! Wish I could wheel with you guys this weekend, but I've got waaaay to much crap going on!
Anyway - call me when you get to Napanee. My cell is 613-561-4871

Hmm... might be a slight change of plans here... I might show up in the 70 (sorry Romey!) it has a chip in the windshield that needs to get fixed... if I can get an appointment in the afternoon I'll bring it - otherwise I'll come in the 40!

My Cell number is 613-614-7852, call and let me know when you are leaving kingston - plan on about 2 hours and 40 minutes to get to calabogie - do the backroads and check out the directions I posted earlier - it's a straight line to calabogie.
See you guys tomorrow - beer on ice.

Wayne, if you get this in the morning, call me when you've left the house, so i'll know your ETA...

fancy that, Rusty and I got to use our winch too, a lady tried to take a corner at 100 k/h and of course hit the ditch. we winched her back onto the road.
not the brightest female i have met. in hindsight i probably should have left her there. safer for everyone else.
had a good time and enjoyed both the wheeling and the companionship.
<amazing how dry you stay with the top off and a monsoon coming down, eh Romey?>

Awesome time guys, glad you all came up for the weekend, nothing too major happened other than Eric smashing out his headlight on the HJ61. The trail seemed to be a great intro to the area and also gives Romey and Moose a good idea of how to set their trucks up for wheeling in this rocky area - without mud.
Was nice to finally meet Wayne after all these years, had a great time with all swapping stories, that's what it is all about.
Let's set something up for next year in this area or the bancroft area - we have to keep doing this every year!
Thanks for a great time guys.
Louis
PS, vid's and pictures coming soon.

That's ok Eric it was short notice for this run. Let me know when you are heading out again, or if you want to come up here and run the Craig trail I am pretty sure you will love it. We didn't end up running Craig as 2 trucks didn't have tranny/transfer case armor.
