I had to snip about 4 that I had no way around, better to leave what we can for sure - but I don't do body damage, scrapes and scratches I can live with. The suzuki guys are protective of their trail but they wouldn't have a trail if it wasn't for guys like us 20 years ago opening it up in the first place.
My truck could barely wedge between some spots, should probably make some go arounds if we have to.

Moose drove up today and we installed his Lokka.
we are driving up friday so we will need EXACT location to meet, location of the trailhead (i will have my "off road" tires installed for Saturday and Sunday) and will be heading back Monday morning. the closer to the trailhead the better for sleep accomodations.
shoot me your cell number (there is cell coverage around there... right?).
i will pack the chain saw, 100 ft and 50 ft tug'm.
are the bugs still bad? any other suggestions?
cheers
<looking forward to 2 days of fun>

Ok sounds good, will get the info tomorrow.
The mosq and black flies are pretty much gone but the deer flies are fricking insane right now for some reason. I keep the windows half way down and the fan full blast and they don't come in - not sure if your top will be on?? Depending on the weather you could be alright.
This should be a great trip!
Now I have to fix my locker:(

went to wayne's sat sun and installed the lokka so now all i need to do is 8274 mount up front and clean the excess CRAP!outta the cruiser and moose is loose . (not to repeat the wayne message just proud of the install)875 km on fri,sat ,sun 550 of wich on veggie .need to process for the trip .had fun in the sand pit near wayne's practicing and playing . the difference between stubborn and percistant is 5 minutes and the expression on your face .
compliments to wayne's personal chef !!
roughly 5 hrs from my place to yours keeping in mind i like to lt the cruiser stech its leggs and moosing it is my speciality you might want to give yourself a couple hours extra .

Here are the directions from calabogie to just about the trail head.
I suspect we will have 3-4 trucks for the tight trail, we will run that on sunday and will take a good part of the day.
Saturday hopefully we will have about 3-6 trucks for the other trail, maybe we can do a bit of exploring as well.
Did you book a place yet? If not you guys better get on it
Louis

At this point if you can find something then you should just book it. I'll try a couple of places and see - try calabogie lodge.

Calabogie peaks has rooms available on the friday night and sunday night - saturday is booked - everything else seems booked as well.
The other option is a room in arnrpior or renfew - about 40 mins away from calabogie.
Right near the trailhead there is a camping spot, firepit, and lake with a small beach.

Mike, what time can you get up to calabogie? If we can get up there early enough we can score the camp site before anyone else does.

Romey - you should get up for this run - should be pretty fun! I am scouting out 3 more trails in the area next week before the run.
Wayne, you better bring your tractor tires, we are getting rain for the next 5 days and I'd hate to see you sliding all over the place on your slicks.

Well there is some mud on rock, not really deep stuff unless I can find some on my next scouting run next week. There is no mud bogging but if we keep getting this rain you could be slipping around on those big tires for parts of the trails. You can room in the back for your other tires - then you can judge. Or on your roof racks?

No problem for fuel, I am sure we will run into town now and then for supplies and whatnot.
Awesome, more cruisers!
I'm bringing a tent with a large screened section - so we can get away from bugs and rain if we have to - I also have a large tarp. Anyone have a cookstove?

i can vouch for both Mike and Jerome's ability to take direction and both are very fast learners. this is turning into a good group.
Jerome,
what time are you heading up? i am leaving very early friday morning and meeting with Mike at about 2. can you make it then? i could meet up with you and head out together, of course i would rather take 7 than the 401 due to slower speed and more scenic...
