After months of making and breaking plans we finally were able to set up a club run. Eric Leblanc of Montreal area was the trail guide for the day as he knows the area very well.
Everyone met up just outside of Weir (near Mont Tremblant), turns out it was just Eric with passenger and myself with Jeff Shane (he owns a BJ60 but elected not to bring it - good thing too). So with just the 2 trucks we decided to head up the powerline that is so popoular in that area for off roading.
Because it had rained all night and morning, the trail was pretty slick and was challenging in areas, lockers were a must. I had rear locker only and Eric had front and rear ARB. A lift kit and 33inch tires min are required for this trail - when wet especially. If you had 31's and didnt care about your truck you could try it - with damage of course. Rock sliders and armour are essential as well.
The powerline we travelled along is pretty intense with very steep hills of rock and mud, rock shelfs and some pretty big rocks just on flat ground, banging frame rails and sliders was a common sound.
The only real damage of the day was a bent tie rod on Erics truck, we removed it and slipped a high lift handle over the weakened TR to make it last the rest of the trip - it did with no problems.
I decided I wanted to try a mud hole - which turned out to be a rock hole with some mud covering the rocks. Jeff said the stones were 2-3 feet in size and could see them rolling under the truck when winching it out. I eneded up ripping a mud flap off and put a ding in my steering stabilizer and relay rod. My 8K winch wouldnt move my truck, Erics 12K winch maxed out on the pull forward, the only way I got out was to pull backwards. I ended up reversing a shackle, but that was easily fixed by jacking the truck up and prying it back into place - very easy actually.
