805'er

Hey there,
i'm not from the OC, but since you guys are all over so cal I think I just might have to tag along for the ride.

I've met a few of you on runs and all I can say is this site has over run my life since last year.

Here's the thing: I want some gear for the rig, but I dont feel that I should have to pay an extra Franklin everytime something gets shipped to me from Golden , Co. (hmmm, who could that be?)
sooo, my question is:

I want to outfit it with Hanna sliders, and the new Slee Bumpers, but want to get in on a group buy.

Anyone game?
Better yet, anyone want to fab up a bumper like slee's new one if I buy material? I'm a machinist, not a welder, but I'm sure I can get it done well. not to take anything from him, their awesome, and worth the cash, it's just that I dont have that much ca$h.

Other than that, i'm looking for some wheeling close to Ventura since gas costs so much. And to get the rig dialed by the time Surf n Turf hits. Anyone got any secret spots other than Hungry Valley and such?

If anyone needs a pick up from MAF, I work about a block from there and can save you the travel maybe.

and if you're in Ventura, gimme a ring and we'll get some 's!

Welcome - for you Gorman/Hungry Valley is certainly closest. I missed the run to the OHV area off Ortega Highway here in OC. Can you make it to our little get together in Big Bear in June? If not, lots of us will certainly hook up at Pismo in November.

Welcome Pablo, I know your not a newbie to MUD but I couldn't resist. We have quite a few people outside the Orange Curtain, the idea that got us all together just originated there, we are all over SoCal and happy to have you. I is a bit of a drive from up there, I used to live in Ojai, but as Brent said there will probably be allot of us at Surf 'N' Turf. Our occasional runs will vary in location so some will be closer than others.

You just missed out on a group buy of sliders from Ken but I doubt it will be the last group buy that gets put together.

No logo, we are meeting at the Crab Flats Campground June 16-17th. Check out the other posts in our forum, namely the Big Bear 16-18th one.

We may need to bribe FirstToy into coming up with something.

That would be pretty cool to have our own logo. Maybe we could even graduate to t-shirts. Whoo Wee! We gonna be big time. What do you think it would take Brent, since you know him better?

T-shirts? Sweeeet!

If we can come up with a logo, my wife's high school (no she's not 16, she's a teacher) has a silk screen and embroidery shop that will make shirts for her at cost (plus a few breakfast burritos).

I get shirts made for my poker nights, it's (or I'm) just that cheap!

And the equipment is brand new and computer controlled, so the shirts look great. I'll wear one of my poker shirts up to Big Bear so you guys can see the work.

Great info Dan. I trust you that they are good quality. I am going to start a new thread to poll the masses and let 805er have his thread back.
