Anyone using a Comet SBB-5 antenna?
I posted this thread up in the electronic toys section and thought I would take Brent's advice and cross post up here.
Is anyone using this antenna and if so how do you like it?

Thanks
Dan

No sir, Diamond antenna here. Brent's happy with his Comet(s) though.

Yep - told him in the linked thread about my SBB-1 and SBB-7 experience. I know there was one truck at our last picnic get together that had the SBB-5. He liked it because I asked him about it since I'd been and still am contemplating the 5 for the Miata. 7 is to damn tall for the garage...even on the Miata and the 1 definetly has less range than the 7 based on cruiser usage with both.

Dan,
Ran in to a couple of SBB-5 users at SnT. Both were very happy with the antenna purchase. Didn't ask what radio they were running.

Thanks for the feed back. If I can break away from work this week at lunch I am running over to HRO to pick up everything.

Picked up my radio, antenna and mount yesterday. Went with the Yaesu FT-7900 radio, Diamond K-400C mount and Comet SBB-5 antenna. Guy at HRO thought this was a good set-up and raved about the stability of the K-400 mount. He showed me his car with that mount and an antenna about 3" in diameter sitting on it.
Hopefully will get it all installed this weekend.

I have the same set up, expect am running 7800r. I like the sbb5 plenty. Nice and clear, hit big bear repeater from out in the mojave preserve (roughly 100 miles) last Jan and also from west los angeles (90 miles I think). I think you'll be happy too.
