The Baja Almanac
I have been on an e-mail notification list for about 3 years. Hoping that they would at least re-publish the old Almanac because I never thought a new one would come out. After a little over a year of being on this list with no way to get a copy I borrowed my buddies and made a copy for myself because I had to have it! Well out of nowhere I finally got the long awaited e-mail that a new Baja Almanac has been published. There is a limited run of them and I can not tout the greatness and detail of this book. I have already ordered mine up and they say it will be shipping this week.

Thanks for posting this, I love a good map and this looks awesome. I ordered one up, hoping one day to get down there.

Yeah, I hope mine comes in by the 18th because it looks like I am head down for the Baja 1000 on the 19th. Since my DV trip didn't work out and I don't work on Friday's right now I couldn't pass up to hang with my buddy at the pits in San Felipe all day Friday! My buddy spent this past weekend pre-running 350 miles in a Robbie Gordon Trophy Truck, LUCKY BASTARD!

Well things at work have changed so I am no longer going to the Baja 1000 but I did get my Baja Almanac today! It is larger but thinner than the old one. The old one was 8.5"x11" while this one is more like 11"x17".

That is a weird format and harder to store. I hope it's better made than the Wells books.

Yeah, it's more flimsy for sure I was a little surprised at the format but once I looked at it I realized that you didn't have to flip pages as much so that was nice.

Mark-
Got mine in the mail today. I can't tell you how impressed I am with the detail and I actually love the format now that I have it in hand. Less pages means you see more on one page and it gives you a better feeling of where you traveled from and where your heading. I am itching to do the La Rumorosa to National Parque Matir run again! Thinking this January.....
Thanks gain for the linky!

Let me know if you get that trip together I may be interested. I have been doing a desert trip with friends for 10 years in late Jan so that and the NFL playoffs will make some conflicts with a Jan trip.

February is short so everybody always seems to avoid it but it works for me if you can arrange another trip in back to back months. With all that's happening down there I'm pretty sure only seasoned Mexico travelers will be interested in the trip which is fine by me, never know. This year I plan to bring boards and surf Camalu, Erendira and maybe Punta Cabras for a day so hopefully you surf, fish or just like the beach. I'll post it up soon.
