Still looking for work.
Hey guys, if you hear of any jobs in the greater LA and IE area. I would appreciate it if you would let me know. I am still looking for a job. Any kind of job doing anything.
I am an accomplished cabinet/furniture maker and finish carpenter. I also have experience in construction management, sales, customer relations, pluming, electrical, concrete, and a little fabricating.
Thanks to All.
Charles

You might be counting me in as well soon. I don't think Caltape can last much longer. I just applied for EDD this past weekend. I need some type of money. It's been what seems like a year since we had a steady paycheck. Sucks big time.

Its really hard to see so many people out of work - WHO WANT TO WORK.
Charles, here is something for you to think about.......
I have a friend who is doing really well taking advantage of the current housing disaster by cleaning up and doing simple repairs on foreclosed properties for banks and lenders. Hauling trash and cleaning up after others does not sound like a picnic, but it is keeping his family fed and his bills paid.
The key to surviving bad times is learning how to adapt to current situations and taking advantage of opportunities that often are overlooked.

That is a viable strategy, I know a couple guys who were netting $1,500 a house on clean up. I think they were charging the bank $2,500. I think their source kind of dried up though. Tough times for everyone

sorry to hear hawkeye, keep your head up, you are in good company man, I have been out of work more than a year now, trying to stay afloat doing fab work and cruiser work, etc. Had a phone interview this week, I think I did really well on it, but there are just so many qualified people out there right now, did not get the interview, they said that "although my qualifications are impressive there are others with even better qualifications", which I don't doubt.
Maybe I should cut my hair and get rid of my porn stache and glasses? you think that would help?

Try it. If it works let me know. I could always stop smoking, trim the uni brow, and die my hiar back from blue to its natural brown.

And maybe stop wearing lipstick....
I am glad you guys are still upbeat about things, It's all you can do. I am very fortunate that I was only in this boat for a month and then got brought back on with my company. And although I just found out I have to take Friday's off with no pay until we get another contract. I am still just going to go with the flow and enjoy life and family and that can be done without spending the green.

My sympathies to everyone lacking work, and or dying business activity, I have also been out of work for over 6 months now...Very few interview activity going on, but there may be a possibility brewing soon, keeping my fingers crossed. I hope things are much better in 10. For now besides sending resumes and the like, given funds are low I go to the gym, and keep myself busy doing stuff with friends and family and working on my cars.
