We are scheduled to meet with Greg Hoffman at the Big Bear Discovery Center on Sunday August 10, 2008 at 9:00 am to check out our new adopt trail. This is a black diamond (difficult) trail that has been closed for some time. This is a great opportunity and a lot better trail than our last assignment! Our goal and objective is to safely run the trail as a group and develop a maintenance plan. It would be incredibly awesome to get as many members and cruiser owners as possible to do our part to help out in the San Bernardino National Forest and assist in re-opening this trail in the future. This is an excellent chance to learn more about the adopt a trail program and learn about the fringe benefits of volunteering your time and energy. This is an open run for active members and non-members from Southern California. Click on the links below for maps and trail info. There are specific rig requirements. Minimum 35" tires, at least (1) locker, working CB, spare parts, filled jerry cans and a fishing pole... Most important a mechanically and practical rig with a great attitude. Stock vehicle is NOT recommended and discouraged. Minor body and some mechanical damage is likely and expected. This is a 33 mile trail with rock after rock after rock obstacles. There are (3) lakes with great fishing opportunities. There are no by-passes. No gas stations or repair shops. Be warned; This trail can and will find weak points in your rig and leave you scratching your head. Expect and plan for adverse weather conditions. We are limiting this run to only 10 vehicles. Up for an unforgettable adventure? Please review the attached links for additional information. If your interested in committing to this run, please let myself (dozertraxx@aol.com) or Kevin Putnam (KWSCPP@aol.com) know. http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sierra/publica http://www.californiajeeper.com/dusy_ershim/review.htmtions/pdfs/rogs/dusytrail.pdf Trail Report Dusy Ershim Trail - MJR Mark Watkins __________________ Jerry 1967 FJ-40: SUA, 33x12.5 MTR, 1F, 4 speed, Soft top, drop down tailgate. 1985 FJ-60: 350 TBI, 4 spd, OME lift, 33x10.5 BF Mt, split rear seat, African Outback roof rack, RTT, Kevin's Tailgate & Quarter Storage panels. 1978 MGB: Red. 1976 GMC Motor Home: Classic Last edited by 1967 TLC; 08-07-08 at 11:49 AM.
