New Arms

Nothing at all new or earth shattering but thought I would share because I am stoked to finally have them done.

Re-did the upper arms in an adjustable and stronger format. They are now solid and threaded. The lowers I did out of 1 3/4" .250 wall DOM and made them 1/4" longer to re-center the axle in the wheel well. Sorry they are crappy pictures but you get the idea.

1. Uppers, yeah!

2. Lowers,

3. Factory left, mine right.

Nice! What wall thickness? 120? 140 wall? They look beefy Mo.

EDIT: Nevermind .250 wall? christ all mighty. You could hang the jeep from your arms upside down dude!

Any drawbacks with the tube thickness being so thick and the tube end not as thick becoming the weak link?
The tube ends look like .120 wall? Johnny joints?

Have the same set up, .250 wall Dom with Heims for lowers, you can bend them, I have slight tacos in both

Yes, but not much. For the slow rock crawling thing the difference in thickness is not a big deal as long as the welds are solid. The most damaging force will be pushing up from below. The increased wall thickness and tubing diameter give the extra strength there. If I were doing more high speed stuff this would definitely be a concern.

I couldn't $ the Johnny Joints so I cut the factory ends off, pressed out the bushings, welded it all together and pressed the bushings back in. Eventually I hope to do new arms with defferent bushings.

It is possible when you use them, and as I recall you do.

Now that's what I am talking about.

One of the most beautiful pictures of a 40th I have ever seen...

Wiping tear.

That's not true, I have two small rock nicks in the drivers rear quarter and a bigger f450 applied dent on the pass rear quarter. I don't remember the last time I washed it either. Hah!
