The Rebuild

Few Pics as I'm getting started on the build. Hope you enjoy them.

I also have several Factory Parts that I will be posting up shortly once I sort out what is getting used.

In the mean time I have 3rd row seats tan that are mint stored properly and fairly new if anyone is interested.

also the headliner, which is structurally an 8/10, and needs either a good cleaning, new lining, or to be dyed.

Hopefully a Buggy, because a driver side visor would be pointless in a buggy!

Very glad as well to see you going on the rebuild. Best of luck.

Also cool to note that your slider windows survived with your Rubithon, SoCal 80's, 4x4 Labs, IPOR, TLCA stickers.

The glass that is out will remain out. No trailering for her she likes the road on the way to the rocks. If it was my own place meet and greet would be no prob. but my parents (believe it or not) were kind enough to let me use the side of their place to work on the truck for a few weeks. One day when I have my own home and bbq you'll all be invited for a few meet and greets.

Glad to see you making progress

What kind of studs? 3 going to be be enough?

Any plans for Hydro Assist?

I don’t know about the other glass but as far as I know all street/highway driven vehicles are required to have front windshields for safety reasons. My Fj40 didn’t have one when I 1st had it and was pulled over twice, I know several others that have been cited also.

Good luck and let us know if you need help, mod day, or whatever.

Brian

Studs are provided by SLEE and the 3rd outer Stud is bolted to the knuckle via a bung that is welded in the place of the ABS sensor.

Hydroassist, What's that ?

Truck will have a windshield. No where near being done.

Thank you for the offer for help, greatly appreciated, and might be taken up in the near future.

I assume you have decided to do some form of hydro assist? What's the scoop? I've looked into it but I haven't found enough available info to feel fully comfortable with it yet.

How fast do you plan on driving to the Rubicon? I am beginning to face the reality that I may have to drive instead of trailering my rig. I would love to caravan, but I drive pretty slow

I cruise no more than 70 mph, easier to keep pace in a caravan.

So they say that when you live in Southern California it's a must that you have a convertable. So how does one achieve such a task?

Draw a few lines with some masking tape, pick up your favorite grinder w/ cutting wheel disk, and make sure you watch those sparks and the insulation which tends to catch fire rather easily.

One of this weekends tasks, enjoy:

The masking tape

Cut between the outer sheet metal shell and the inner shell and split the two

Peal back the lip like a can of Tuna

Remove the top. Weighs a lot more than I expected

Welcome to So Cal

Looks good Sam!

You should replace the roof with that Opaque plastic stuff like a UPS truck!

Call up Brown and ask what they can do for you!

Awesome. Subscribing.

There is something vaguely reminding me of Mickey Rubicon's truck, but you need more stickers.

Nice going.
