Looks good Sam, I forgot Steve was going too. I would love to hear how his truck faired? Any body damage to that, almost too clean to wheel Lexus?

Mark, Steve did get a little ding in his DS door. I'm sure he'll post a few pics, but Steve can pick some incredible lines. He knows his truck well and squeezed it through some tough sections without a scratch.

Hope you'll have her at Pismo in November Sam. I'm sure the pics just don't do the great work justice!

Yes, sunroof with all the mounts and glass weighs a lot, so thanks to Pablo a piece of lexan took the place of the opening and I can unbolt it anytime I like.

Ouch you say, lol. That wasn't close to some of the larger ledges we went down. That's what your sliders and rear bumper are for.

Thanks for sharing the video

Arms help up LIKE A CHARM and took a little beating. I haven't had time to give them a good look yet though.

That is Alvaro behind me. You want to talk about driving skills, he is very smooth behind the wheel. also a great spotter (as were, pablo, rick, andy, joe, and even dunkane who's first spot was through a Very sketchy section of the trail through a hardline section).

you guys have no idea what eye candy this rig was.
He showed up just as the sun set, and it was nearly dark out, but within minutes, he had 6 guys all over that rig like a NASCAR pitstop. guys were on their backs, humped over the 40 inch tires and climbing on the back like a jungle gym.

He wheeled the snot out of it, and it ran great. Even got a little rain in it on the way home down the pass.

Steve (619toy) made it thru the 'con without any hassles, shoot almost made it completely without a scratch. I told him he drove the cleanest lines out of anyone there.
If he doesn't watch out, I'm stealing that rig. He makes a killer Tri Tip also.
It's hard to believe he drove that trail so well with TWO dogs on his lap. Dogs rule. But still, that's some accomplishment. I've had hassles with dogs on a freeway, let alone at 40 degrees tilt and that elevation, dust, loud bangs and the sweet sound of sliders on granite.

here's a few of PKP80 when he pulled up, he's been there for maybe 35 seconds and I caught him mid swing at his first mosquito.

Thats why there are so few out there!

You could cut and splice a cage together and leave the roof on, but it wouldnt be near as strong, and it would take light years longer to build... Time is Money Sams rig was gutted of all interior carpets ect. No roof made it much easier to build...

Most pple can't even tell that the roof has been cut (as far as how exact the weld back onto the pillars were made) And my roof and pillars are from a totally different 80, that's how good Bob's work it (sorry Bob I know you don't like it when I brag you out, but it's true) and had the truck not been in a roll over taking everything out and reinstalling would have been easy. Carpet and all that good stuff fits, seats fold etc.

The BEST part of all this. When I had to clean out the truck from all the mud and dirt, I merely stood in the second row and washed out the back half of the truck.

lol, total slacker. I sitll have the hose clamp holding on the upper control arm bolt.

Hydro assist is lined up, but I need to do some panhard relocation mods before I do the hydro. I might be able to do the hydro before, but that requires my getting up off my ass and measuring and poking around under the truck.

So hydro assit, TBA.

Along with a 3-link, completion of rear winch, and some other stuff.

Nice, tough looking trail rig. How does it feel driving it thru Santa Monica and Sunset Blvd?

Prior to our trip to the CON i'd say. "Didn't you have enough bbq" but now I know that for you and Alvaro the is No such thing.

Pismo is really only 15 weeks away...so fast.

I love it, I'm the A-hole no one DARES to cut infront of, the asian tourists point and take pictures, and kids stop and stare. My little cousins think the roll cage is a jungle gym.
