Picacho River Escape
Another great trip in the record books. This will go down as one of my all time favorite trips. We had a blast and can't wait to head back.

So do you think that camp would be even better in a month or two when the water warms up so you could swim around? I would assume Summer would be too HOT and there would be a ton of bugs near all of that grass.

Looks like a great place. An hour on dirt? It's no wonder you were alone I guess. Nice pics too Dave. I put my name on the list of objectors to the governators plan.
Keep those coming, I hope one day I can tag along on one. Dan. __________________ I'm Dan and I approve this message. (KG6AJV) 1995 FZJ80 Expedition rigged, blown, OME's, L/R 44gal spare tank, other stuff 1974 FJ40, F, 4MT, 33" BFG's, HFS 4" - 1994 Pickup, 3" body lift, otherwise stock |

Damn Dave. That looks like another amazing trip.
I wish I could get out there and explore half as much as you do. You're a fortunate man! |

I dont recommend taking a large trailer through either of them. Some spots can be a little tight and off camber.

That looks like a real nice place. It doesn't look remotely crowded...were there people around?

No people really around. 2 guys showed up one night and camped out in mummy bags, but that was about it. I talked to them and they said , we were the only people they've ever camped with out there. They said , they usually have the whole beach to themselves. We had BLM come by one time and some tourists come by another time, just to sightsee, but that was about it. Pretty nice.
There are 4 campsites with 4 bbq's, 4 patio covers and 4 fire pits. There are 3 solar bathrooms. There is also another 2 campsites about 8 miles north of this spot with room for maybe 2 rigs per site, but its in the brush on the edge of the water vs. a beach. Also, there's the main camp, about 10 miles south of us which isn't close to the beach(but does have a boat launch) and that has solar showers/bathrooms also. That trip looks incredible. I love the pic of Yosh and Dixie kicking it by the shore. All those pics of Dixie remind me of Tillie, funny how the same breed has so many character traits the same.

--- Brad, Believe it or not sometimes when we have so many people email the gov it “crashes” their system. They called a few weeks ago and told me about this. They are getting some new computers to deal with this issue. Keep trying and you should be able to get through.
