Fire Extinguishers

If you are looking into a fire extinguisher for your rig I would recommend All County Fire at 3163 Adams Ave. 619/284-4770. The place doesn't look like much and is more of a warehouse head quarters than a store front. But as a walk-in off of the street they took $5 off of the $41 price tag. It's a 2.5 lbs with a bracket.

I just picked one up today and I learned a few things. The one I had picked up somewhere somehow was a total POS and it turns out it was from 1972 so needles to say they wouldn't re-fill it. Then rather than getting an ABC extinguisher that puts out Electrical, Gas & Wood fires they turned me onto a Purple K Powder extinguisher that is commonly used in air planes. It was the same price as the ABC one but when used the foam will not eat away at the paint just in case it's only a small fire you are putting out. And it will still put out both types of vehicle fires, gas or electrical.

Thanks for the info.

I have been thinking about replacing my Home Despot extingishers with something a little better. I'll check them out.

No problem, it's one of those things that you wish you had when it's too late. Plus with you building your cargo box and mine in the plans stages it's a good time to incorporate one.
