Good local Hardware Store
There is nothing like a good old fashioned local hardware store with the odds and ends that I sometimes need. Home Depot just doesn't cut it when it comes to odd fasteners, etc.
Hank's hardware back up in Temecula was the shit for this kind of stuff. I am now in Carlsbad and need to find a new place. Can anyone reccomend a good local old school hardware store???
thanks,
Noah

There's a fastenal in Calsbad and one in San Marcos. I can usually find what I need locally at the ace in Encinitas. Also, proabably one of the better stores is Marshall industrial hardware off Production in Miramar.

Noah,
There's a DeNault's True Value on the corner of Carlsbad Village Drive and the 5 fwy behind Albertsons. They have a descent fastener ilse. Sold the 40 last week Got a good price though. Now have fundage for the Pigster. How's the new home treatn ya? Has anyone done a Surf-N-Turf Rollcall yet? I'll now be attending without a Landcruiser Maybe we should start a "Who's going to 2009 SNT?" Thread.
Later
Pat

Marshalls for me to. If they don't have it, there's the granddaddy of them all, McMaster Carr. 1 day away, huge inventory without sourcing it back to another supplier, got my last order out to me next day when I ordered at 4:30 pm, very reasonable shipping.

Funny, I wanted something Marshall's didn't have but they said they could order it. I said sure and watched the counter clerk fire up the computer and go to McMaster Carr, she found the item and then marked it up 40% right in front of me. I said thanks but no thanks. The experience kind of rubbed me the wrong way but otherwise they have a great selection.

Yeah Marshalls has everything. Ace in Encinitas isn't too bad either...bettter than HD. Ace has a new owner and changed a bunch of stuff since I replaced a bunch of hardware from there but it looks like they carried that over.
