It's that time again "Elections"

It's that time again "Elections"

After 2 years of being the president of the Pacific Mountain Cruisers, one of California's larger off-road clubs it's time for me to bow out and open the position up to someone else.
I can't believe we are celebrating our 10 year anniversary!! Over the years I've meet many great folks at the meetings and on the trail. It's great to see how as a club we pull together with volunteers to pull off events like Fun Day, Swap Meet, trail runs (sanctioned and non-sanctioned), Pillsbury Group Camp, and a monthy Newsletter.
Elections are this October at the PMC meeting for all Offices and Chair positions. Now it's your chance to bring your ideas to help steer this club to another 10 years of wheeling fun. I know there is a bunch of new and old club members that have their own thoughts on how the club should be run, so please step up and take on one of the positions in the leadership or chair teams. It's not hard, you can put in as much time as you want.

Leadership Team Positions:
President
Vice President/membership
Treasurer
Secretary/Meeting Chair
TLCA Delegate
Calendar Chair
Safety Chair
Land Use Chair
Swap Meet Chair
Fun Day Chair
Newsletter Writer/Coordinator

So please step up and don't be shy and help keep this club rolling. You can call me (707-527-0240), e-mail, or come by the house what ever works for you. Also if you don't think you're up to it, maybe you could recommend someone else you feel would do a good job.
I have some ideas and if no one steps up you may be getting a call. With 11 positions open I'm sure there is something for YOU!!

Thanks Tim Wehrer your exiting President

James Henry runs that unit. Might want to chat with him if looking to unload.

Yes, 3rd thursday in October, something like 16 or there abouts. As Tim notes, this is really a good opportunity to support PMC by getting involved. If you think you could do a good job, you most likely will do an excellent job. Just step up to the plate and swing!

John is buying... hahahehe. Looking forward to it.

Michael

I thought all positions are open for each year. This isn't a monarchy nor a dictatorship.

I honestly don't think anyone will run against you, but the bylaws state that each position is for a one year term.

Thought the officers had a two year limit, but Roger also stated that the Delegate position was not limited too this two year limitation.

But if anybody would like to do the Delegate position, JUST SPEAK UP, until then I have no problem keeping this duty. Being in this position for so long actually helps with questions and it also keeps me on top of the TLCA organization as well, and people in TLCA are just now getting to know my name, and who I am.

Was not looking to horde this position, I just like to do my part, and I fit well here.

OK, who is going to fess up some bylaws for me to read.

Or is there a location on the web that I can review them, I would like to read them anyway, seeing how I personally have never seen them.

Either way if there is no other interest I am up for Delegate!

There are four jobs that are voted on.
President
Vice President
Treasurer
Secretary

The rest are really who would like to step up and say I will do my best at one of them.
If no one complains then you get it,and we will thank you very much.
Last year we amended the by laws that read you could only hold the elected
jobs 2 years to read 2 or more years if you still wanted it. We have a very hard time
getting people to take interest in the club at this level. Most just want to show up
and then go home. Not to complain I enjoy taking part in the club functions very much.
I am going to talk to Tim and I might run for Preident again and see if we can raise
some new intrest in new club activities.

Roger is correct... except actually it is 5 positions, including the TLCA Delegate.

the other roles are simply committee chairs, technically filled by the President who usually takes any volunteers. The Chair roles help distribute the many club tasks over a larger group of volunteers.

I also agree that new club activities are needed. It is a good time being the start of our 11th year.

How exciting!

Well if it includes the TLCA Delegate, then I will have to step down. It has been so enjoyable I can not remember if I have had this title for two or three years now. This is sad due to the fact that I do so enjoy it.

OH WELL we will see what happens at the meeting.

well hold on there... term limits have been removed. If you want the job, I am sure all PMC members would love to see you continue in the role. Obviously, having some depth in all our PMC roles is good but if no one wants the job, then we want to keep someone in there who is willing to apply themselves.

its all good.
