computer s.o.s.

To whoever gets this message

Not only is my Internet time extremely limited at the moment, my desktop computer has apparantly been infected by a trojan horse virus. We lost our modem for over a week, with earthlink basically telling my wife she didn't know how to type our password in correctly, before we realized that our password keystrokes were being scrambled by this

virus.SO.....

1. Now more than ever it's faster if you call me
2. I would appreciate calls that 'keep me in the loop' on what's going on with a.)TLCA, b)MUD, c)SNT or d)people looking for my services.
3. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could call me with a link to a website where I can learn about the specific symptoms of different trojan horse viruses and how to eliminate them. I really don't have the time or the means for hours of research while I'm on someone else's computer!

Wish me luck!

Mark A.

So what's the status ?

Quick way to find out how to remove the spyware/malware is to google the name of the offending agent, if you know it.

Did an anti-malware program identify it as a Trojan ?

Mark,

ever consider saving your important files and reformatting the computer and starting off fresh and clean?

Well ,we tried reformatting the computer about a half dozen times. Each time Windows would reopen and say 'Hi Mark!

So Tina put a partition in the computer and installed Linux as our new operating system. So far so good. Haven't tried importing any of my old files from the CDs or jump drives yet. Kind of just getting caught up with other online business.

THanks for the replies, and the generous offer Seth.
