Cdan order
I'm putting in an order to Cdan, so if anyone has anything that they've been needing and wants to save on shipping, nows your chance. Order goes in on Monday, most likely.
For me it's:
- 4 caliper bolts (as I discovered on the trail, they are used in several places)
- New lugs to replace those stupid wheel locks.
- Any other bolts/nuts/etc Cdan says is commonly used
- Blue hub clutch fan
- Front axle R&R kit

Ok screw that noise, the stupid bolt that stripped itself and the wiper arm are toast. Quick lookup looks like about a $200 fix :(

As for the EGR mod im not sure, I'd like to remove it completely if i can figure out the ecu/resistor trick. I'd like to make it look as stock as possible cause i have to pass emmissions and i'd rather not have to be putting back on and off.
speaking of the CEL. does anyone here local have a code reader/reset. cause we'll probably need one at some point.
I looked on ebay for them and theres a bunch but i dont know the last thing about whats good and whats not when it comes to code readers, was thinking of posting it as a question in the general 80 tech forum.

I think what I'm going to do is pull my EGR modulator, fill it with JB Weld completely, then do the resistor. That way it looks completely stock (except the resister, but I'll hide that under some wrap or something.

Whenever you want, it's a replace as needed item. Hmm, I should add that to my list if they're not terribly expensive, I don't think they are....
I will be giving cdan a call around noonish probably.

Order placed. I think Cdan's dogs are going to be eating steak for a while.
The prices he quoted me were very close to the ones above, which should give you a good idea as to how much it was. Sorry I don't have exact amounts, he rattled off numbers and amounts so fast that I don't even know the total amount!
I'll have all the front end "kit" stuff along with new wheel bearings and a couple of other things cdan said I should have on hand "just in case." (Most pretty cheap, in the case of the wheel bearings, not so much.)
So sometime in the not to distant future....birf party for me. I think I want to do it at Al's house again so his wife can cook.

No rush. I'll use you and D3fiant as an excuse as to why the total is so high to the .
Travis, if you needed new parts for your FJC (oh, like say, idler pulley...) Cdan can get 'em too. Just something to keep in mind in case Wheeler tells you to take a hike.
Hmm, actually, I wonder if Cdan can order the third gen fender flares? Dealerships can get them somehow, so I'd be willing to bet there's a part number for it. Wonder how much those suckers are.

The inener fender panels are the problem and it's not the cost, but the install...

Hmm, I thought they were all one piece (fender flares and panels).
I'm aware that it's the install that's the price. My thought was that if you could get the 3rd gen panels, you could cut out (rather than unbolt) your existing ones and weld in the new ones. That may not be possible at all without taking out the dash, which you probably don't want to do.

Welding in body panels is not as easy as it may sound and it would be a matter of replacing the whole panel to do it right. if I were to just replace a bit of it I think the amount of work would be about the same...maybe just a bit more forgiving and I'd just use junk yard bits...

Well, I know what the total is at least.

D3fiant and Tyler, feel free to just pay a third each and we'll call it good.
(Or you can wait until it gets here and I have the invoice. I'm hoping the brown man will have it by Friday, but more likely early next week.)

Searching the 80's forum turns up nothing that I can find. I remember about a year ago Cdan hinting at something, but don't know if it ever turned out.
I would ask for part numbers, then maybe post it on the 80's forum.
