Carb and Distributor Advice

Hey everyone,
I need some advice. I'd like to order some parts for fixing the hesitation issue with the 60 when this house remodel is done with. It sounds like I need to address the carb and distributor but I need some help with the following options:

JimC rebuild Carb $299 + shipping

OEM Carb rebuild kit $76.02

used distributer $233.75

vacuum advance distributor $279.50

I'm thinking since this is the first rebuild I could probably do the rebuild myself? I have no idea which distributor I should get. But again the goal with this rig is remote camping and fishing and some significant confidence it will start for the trip home with the family would be a nice feeling.
Thanks-

you need to diag the real issue before blowing money. unless of course you just have money to blow.

I guess I feel as though the rig is 20 some years old and if either of these things might give me future problems out in the middle of nowhere I would rather take care of it in my garage.
