Olympic Synthetic Products (Tow/Recovery Strap)

I called up Olympic Synthetic Products a while back, and they finally got back with me. Olympic makes primarily load bearing slings and straps, for hauling heavy stuff (some of their stuff is way cool, like their sling that's rated for over 90k!).

The guy there (Todd) was super cool, and totally willing to deal.

We talked over a couple of options, and settled on a sort of "generic" strap.

30' Length
2 ply 2" (32,000 breaking strength)
20,000 rated hooks
Two sliding sleeves

$67 each

So basically the hooks are your limiting factor for strength. At a "mere" 20k pounds.

They can make pretty much anything you want though, so if you wanted a strap without hooks, or longer, it's all doable.

Any interested? This even a good deal? (From my digging around on the web it sounds like a great deal, but maybe someone else has a better one...)

not a bad price.
i am not particularly fond of metal hooks on a strap.
that, and most times the hook doesnt fit the attachment point.
i would personally rather have loops and a clevis option.

Okay, so called them up today and got a new quote. Same deal as before, just no hooks (just the loops on either end). So you can use a shackle, d-ring, whatever.

Price: $50

That seems like a killer price to me, and I'm definitely going to be ordering myself one. Anyone else interested?

I will be ordering one this coming week. I can order one for you as well at the same time if you're interested.

Should be only a couple days down to me, and then a couple days down to you. SHOULD be good to get to you before you need to head back.

You do need to be aware that this is a tow strap and not a snatch strap. It does not stretch (though it can be used for recovery purposes, extending winch line, etc).

Total price would be the $50 + whatever it costs to ship to you.

I don't know if they have to make these up or if they have some in stock. If they have to make them up, then we may not be able to meet your deadline. I hopefully will have more details this coming week.

Ordered my strap today. There's a super special uber bonus on it....but you'll have to wait until I have pics!

According to Todd they have a plant up near Portland. The strap is made on demand, but they can have it done tommorrow!

I might even have it before the end of the week!
