2009 Events

I know that this might sound impossible to plan, but I'm trying to do a little preplanning for 2009. My Vacation requests for the 2009 calender year needs to be done by October 31st 2008. So for me to have guaranteed time off in 2009 I need to apply for it, in the next couple months. I want to do my best to follow club rules and make meeting and runs, so if anything big is to planned IE. Runs, BBQ's, anything to do with the club that can be planned early that everybody can agree on (Don't make exceptions for me). I have already planned for Mcgrew 2009, so that is pretty much a guarantee. I hope to make the october meeting, but there is a chance that I won't be able to attend. Thanks Josh.

P.S. I hope not be one of those members that just gives money and does'nt attend anything. I want to attend and be part of this club as much as I can.

Maybe we can have something planned at the meeting so we all can pencil something out for next year. I will try to remember to bring it up!

I want to make every possible effort to get you and our other non-central members out to club events Josh. The rest of us have the luxury of being available for last minute weekend BBQ's/get togethers etc. So I think it's only fair to plan the bigger things well in advance so you and our other long haulers have the chance to make it.

I've only talked to Garett about this, but I have an overnight trip planned out in my head. It involves taking the dirt roads from the Klamath river South over the mountains west of Yreka to Ft Jones, then take the highway to Etna, and over Etna Summit to the 20 acre mining claim where my family lived when I was little. The claim is no longer accessible by vehicle..... except for the "batman entrance" that is a river crossing that hasn't been driven over in years... IE a nice little challenge.

The crossing isn't deep or long, but the bank on the far side has gotten pretty steep, so it should be a fun time. I'm thinking something with lockers and a winch should lead the way... So the rest of us can be tugged up if needed... The mining claim is now riddled with rock piles and holes, most made by my dad long ago... So it should be a fun place to do some wheeling, and camp over night. The rock area is only about 5 acres... (So you don't get overly excited.... you know who you are!)

The big question mark on this is how high the water will be... summer or fall is the best time, as the water level has fallen by then...

If this sounds like a good time to you Josh, we can talk about a date that would work best.

On another note. perhaps we can nail down dates for our 09 meetings? There's Jan. Apr. Jul. Oct.

I'm thinking some snow wheeling/meeting for jan? OR we could all hang out around a nice wood stove.... Hehehe

Hey, wheeling's fun, right up until it's not... Which is usually about the time that you're soaking wet and cold, and not unstuck yet....

Or when you have to call in a Solid on Christmas day...or need a mobile anchor to get you out of a Lake mistakenly called a puddle on the Rubicon...

It's so good to have real friends that are there for you no matter how stupid your choice may have been that ended you up in the fix you've gotten into by the time you call for them...and they don't question they just pile in and show up!

Thank you again G double Tizzle you are the best!!

I watched that video . . .
I saw 3 or 4 rigs go before you and another two rigs go after you. THEY didn't have any trouble with the "lake" you speak of.

Not so sure christmass day is open for me to go wheeling and sorry I'll say no to thanksgiving (there is a lot of space between my seat and steeringwheel but for some reason thanksgiving always seems to change that . . .)
