| Tires for So. OR / No. Ca ok.. not a member yet. But I do have a question for the So OR / No. CA guys.
I need new tires and thinking of the Pro Comp Extreme M/T's OR the Interco Trexxus tires. Will be running 35's. Any of you have experience in our area with either of these tires? How are they in snow. I love to wheel in the snow and want to make sure they will work
I had Toyo M/T's on my 72 Blazer and they didn't do very well in snow.
thanks in advance for any input

| I haven't run either tire you are thinking about. I have run the Toyo's and have been impressed by them, but I usually chain up all 4 when I start getting into the deep stuff or frozen junk. I have also run BFG Mud and A/T's and Swamper TSL SX which were by far the worst tire in the snow.
Sorry for the lack of help on this one, if you're not a fan of the Toyo's then my recommendation is useless for you

| I just put some AT's in the FS club section. Will be putting them on CL and the FS here on mud in a day or two. The AT's work better than the MT's in everything but mud AFAIK. Once the snow is packed the MT better be siped or you're just slippin. |

| I just got some General Grabber AT2's, which are supposed to be excellent in snow.
Plus they can be studded.
Got a killer price for them from Expert Tire here in Medford.

| Thanks guys... I wouldn't say that I am not a fan of Toyo's.... love their A/T and also I did like their M/Ts on the Blazer. They balanced well and were great on road and in dry dirt. They just seemed to not get the job done in Snow.
Last winter I went with a Big Dodge extended cab and a jeep and they both walked all around me in the snow. It was all I could do to just keep the Blazer moving. I wasn't able to get out and play like the other two guys.
I have heard pretty good things about the Pro Comp's, but not from any FJ owners. The price is reasonable also... I can get 5 from Les Schwab for $1,307 plus $120 in freight. They are charging me freight because it is not a tire they carry. I like to use Les Schwab since I go past them every day on the way home and its easy to stop in and get tire rotations, balances, etc....
Anyway... just hoping that some one in our area has ran them on the FJ80 and what they thought of them.
hopefully others have some experience with them

| I have the Trxus MT's in 35x12.5x15. The do pretty good. I like them better than the ProComp offerings. I also prefer them over BFG M/Ts or A/Ts for my purposes. Honestly for a primarily road truck with occasional trailing I'd go with the BFG A/Ts every time. I've had good luck with them. The only thing I've noticed much of a problem with was a trip on packed clay/dirt/mud. But that day everyone was. Oh, I've also noticed somewhat less performance in snow that my brothers 33x15.5 TSL SX's (go figure on that one huh).
See my sig for how the Trxus look (I think the best shots the upside down one . . .). |

| How do the Trexxus balance? I keep hearing that they do not balance well.... Do you run Dyna beads or something similar?

I haven't had a problem with them or the wear patterns either. |

I just ordered 5 Interco Trexxus tires from Les Schwab today. I went with 35's and I am also going to get some Dynabeads to put in them. Even though Les Scwhab doesn't carry Interco's they were still able to order them for me. The charged me $294 per tire (total $1,471 for all 5). They are on backorder though... Interco said 3 to 4 weeks...
I hope the Dyna beads take care of the balance issues that some have had with the Trexxus.
Now I just need to get my 4" lift ordered and installed before they get here. Any one want to get dirty??

However, if you want to come over here I'd be more than happy to help you. I even have a pickle fork so you won't crack your head open.

I purchased mine at 4wheelparts.com because there weren't any local "dealers" and the places that could get them wanted way too much. If you're considering it, give them a call they may have them in stock and sometimes over the phone they'll give you a better deal ; ) |

I do not want to aggressive tires, So I am not sure swampers would work for me. I might be wrong though, I have never ran a Swamper

If you didn't like the Toyo M/T's in snow, I don't know if you'll like the Trexxus (which are supposed to have similar performance). I'll be interested to see your thoughts.

The only thing I can find are the Interco SuperSwamper TrXus tires when I google what you are talking about. I have the Interco SuperSwamper TrXus Mudder tires on my rig. So that was why I was making the suggestion. |

I have seen Swampers made by Interco and TrXXus made by Interco... I haven't seen a Swamper Trxxus before. I am not super familiar with Interco's products though so there may be such a tire.
When I looked on 4wheelparts website I was able to pull the tires up separately......
Anyway... not sure how soon I am going to be able to put them on..... Slee doesn't have any front 4" springs in stock and won't get them in for another 6 to 8 weeks. I even tried calling Frankie Off-Road to see what he has and he won't have springs for 6 to 8 weeks either. I want to be a little different and don't want to go with OME springs...... so I am stuck for a while

| FOR will be the most unique. I believe they are also the only progressive spring that will be offered, at least here in the States.

| I spoke with Frankie for quite a while on Wednesday afternoon. It sounds like he is going to have a pretty neat setup when he is all done. I am not sure if I want to be one of the first to put the springs on and test them.... Will have to wait to see how the comments go

| Interco TrXus MT Interco TrXus STS
Interco owns SuperSwamper and all of their 4x4 truck tires are the SuperSwamper brand. |
